The CSIT (Centre for Secure Information Technologies) next annual Cyber Security Summit is scheduled to take place in Belfast on May 8 and 9. And, as with previous events, CyNation will most definitely be there. The Summit is a key element in the rise of Northern Ireland as a cyber security powerhouse, so it will be interesting to see what emerges from this year’s gathering.
As in the past, the Summit will bring together the international research community alongside industry leaders, government policy makers, start-ups and SMEs from around the world.
For researchers and technologists, the two-day event will focus on planning today for the cyber security challenges of tomorrow. In terms of innovation, this event represents an opportunity to learn from, and contribute to, the growth of new cyber security companies with global ambitions.
This year’s speakers will include:
• Prof Máire O’Neill – Principal Investigator, CSIT
• Troels Oerting – Head of Global Centre for Cybersecurity, the World Economic Forum
• Marc French – SVP & Chief Trust Officer, Mimecast
• Kevin R. Powers – J.D. Founding Director, MS in Cybersecurity Policy & Governance Program, Boston College
Highlights of last year’s Summit – including our CTO Shadi Razak – are available on the event’s YouTube video:
