October was European Cyber Security Month and – appropriately – it proved to be one of the busiest months of the year for CyNation. The month’s packed schedule actually began on September 30, with the start of the latest Kickstart programme. We are delighted to have been selected for the six-week Collaborative Sprint, which runs until November 8.
Our involvement at the beginning of Kickstart saw our executive team travel to Zurich and Bern to exhibit, pitch and network at several events. Executive Chairman Steve Berry spoke about integrated risk management at a FinTech session on October 8. The following day, CTO Shadi Razak delivered a comprehensive pitch, focusing on CyDesk, our vendor risk management platform.
The middle of the month saw a flurry of activity, with CyNation represented at several important events and missions. On October 14, Silvi Wompa Sinclair, our Insurance Business Director was involved in this year’s Intelligent InsurTECH Europe event. At the same time, Shadi took part in an important UK technology trade mission to Saudi Arabia (right). The region represents a very exciting opportunity for our industry.
On October 15, Luxembourg’s Cyber Security Week started. The week actually ran for 10 days, ending on October 25. Luxembourg is at the heart of Europe and in recent years it has developed to become a financial services powerhouse. The high point of what proved to be a very fruitful week was PwC Cybersecurity Day, which took place on October 24. We were selected as one of five cyber companies to pitch our products and services to PwC and Luxembourg’s business community (right).
The pace of this busy month continued right up until the very end. On October 29 we took part in techUK’s Cyber Innovation Den, where Shadi delivered a pitch.
On the last two days of the month we attended Infosecurity.nl, Data and Cloud Expo. This is the top Dutch exhibition in the field of IT security, data management and cloud computing and is aimed at IT managers and IT professionals. We both collaborated and shared a stand with Compumatica, an independent Dutch cyber security manufacturer in the field of encryption and network security/segmentation. COO Daniela Menzky and CTO Shadi Razak represented CyNation (right).
At this time of the year, awards season is almost upon us. During October we were thrilled to be nominated in two of Computing Magazine’s prestigious awards programmes. In fact we were nominated in three categories for both the Security Excellence Awards and the Technology Products Awards! (Voting now closed). Wish us luck!
European Cyber Security Month may now be over, but we expect the momentum generated throughout October to continue. Indeed, our webinar on November 6 will ensure that this is the case!
