Large-scale cyber-attack on Labour Party’s digital platforms1 min read

12/Nov/2019

The Labour Party has reported a “sophisticated and large-scale cyber-attack” on its digital platforms. However, according to a party spokesperson, the attack, which was discovered yesterday afternoon, “failed” because of the party’s “robust security systems” and they were confident that no data breach had occurred. The incident has been reported to the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

Some election activities were slowed down because of security procedures. Reportedly, these are now back to full speed.

The platforms targeted have not been revealed, but the party’s main website, Facebook and Twitter accounts are functioning.

Voters are due to go to the polls on December 12.
