The Swiss innovation platform Kickstart has selected 48 growth companies from 17 countries to participate in this year’s edition. CyNation is one of just eight companies from a longlist of more than 350 selected for the programme’s brand new Cybersecurity Vertical!

Kickstart is a spin-off of Impact Hub Zurich, a globally connected community of entrepreneurs, techies, and creatives. The ecosystem innovation platform runs programmes for startups, “intrapreneurs”, CEOs and established organisations, including a kickoff week in September and a six-week 2 Collaboration Sprint, which runs from from September 30 to November 8.

This is the fourth iteration of Kickstart’s ecosystem innovation programme. Taking place in Zurich, it will involve 48 national and international tech startups and scale-ups – a new, record total. In addition, nine corporate innovation teams – known as “intrapreneurship” teams, have made it into the programme. The shared aim is to take their business to the next level and, together with established organisations, promote tech innovation in Switzerland.

Cutting-edge solutions

The selected startups provide cutting-edge solutions for a wide range of challenges. In addition to us, the newly established Cybersecurity Vertical includes companies working on automated attack simulation (XM Cyber). The Food & Retail Tech Vertical brings together startups working on plant-based “meat” (Planted Foods) and coffee grounds upcycled to sustainable ingredients for personal care and functional foods (Kaffe Bueno).

FinTech companies offer platforms based on blockchain and AI that make investments more efficient and safe (AllianceBlock) as well as insurance customised and agile solutions (tigerlab), amongst others.

HealthTech includes smart textile electrocardiogram (ECG) solutions for long-term monitoring of heart activity (Nahtlos) and at-home lab testings (myLAB Box).

Companies in the Smart City & Technology Vertical work on platforms to analyse and manage urban mobility (ViaNova) and solutions that combine innovative technology with plants in order to improve the air quality in office spaces (Oxygen at Work), to mention just a few.
